S C R A T C H I N G T H E S U R F A C E Scratching on the surface Yeah the walls are paper thin I can hear the party going Do I ask if I can join in? Things were looking up but now You won’t look me in the eye Face down in bright lights till sunrise One, two seconds till i’m locked into The station of your mind All the time How I wonder if i’ll ever get to To hold your hand in mine La la la la La la la la La la la la I’m thinking of a number That’s somewhere in between A hundred and quarter I caught it in a dream You can send write a message To anyone you please Place an order from the Chinese For a standing white neon tree One, two seconds till i’m locked into The station of your mind All the time How I wonder if i’ll ever get to To hold your hand in mine La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la (‘lude) One, two seconds till i’m locked into The station of your mind All the time How I wonder if I’ll ever get to call you mine La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la

L I F E L I N E Whenever I am lost I will call my love On the phone, She’s my home I’m never quite as tough everything’s a bluff on my own Satisfy the need to cry It’s part of our design Whenever I get tired from the daily grind I feel owned, I get stoned Coming around, her love is abound like a glow Magnify How we live and die I’ll be another eye to remember you by You will always be my lifeline Got a hundred problems with a hand in all the others It’s true But you don’t turn a blind eye, or forget to reply Like they do Be amplified With your point of view Nevermind, I’ll runaway with you You will always be my lifeline Hometown Do you hear me now I’m calling out i’m coming out Right now yeah Whenever I am lost I will call my love On the phone, She’s my home I’m never quite as tough everything’s a bluff on my own Satisfy the need to cry It’s part of our design

W A N D E R I N G G O H S T All my life I’ve been looking for love I never thought I deserved Any more than your empathy All this time I’ve been seeking a thrill Been getting my fill But I had been empty But I’m still feeling empty And it follows me This wandering ghost This wandering East to west Giving my best A cultural mess Craving simplicity When we don’t See eye to eye I cannot deny A lapse in my clarity It follows me This wandering ghost It follows me Wherever I go Where would you go? Coast to coast Now I’m out on the road And missing you so I’m lost in a fantasy Full moon Morning gloom Early dawn Breaking down I fade into the light I fade into the light I fade into the light of a thousand suns It follows me This wandering ghost It follows me Wherever I go Where do you do you go?

I N D I G O S E P T E M B E R Will you give me a tincture of sunshine Yeah her laughter I think of in my mind Like moods changing with the weather I'm falling in love every summer Pour me a rainbow of color From Virginia, visible to her Holding still and silent by the water Listening over the chatter Indigo September Blooming leaves of green I’m darker than December A violet sea Indigo September Drifting through the breeze Find me along mystic river Up a cargo elevator Chasing songs and musings of a dreamer One foot in front of the other Indigo September Blooming leaves of green I’m darker than December A violet sea When we are together Drifting through the breeze Oh I drift into a dream Sun sets in candy skies Over and over again Sleeping through pouring rain Over and over again

W O N' T B E L O S I N G S L E E P Breathing slow, I’m shivering My state of mind Sings like a violin Sharp whistling Or rambling Like a record, old and broken Beyond what’s physical My hands are tied You’re untouchable Invisible Miserable I won’t give in to this feeling Don’t lose sight Oh, She promises nothing to me Now love is my only reprieve Oh I won’t, no, I won’t be losing sleep We’re packing pockets full Of quizzical information We’re humans of wireless conviction Abusers who cannot refuse Throw your pride away, break all the rules Or put up a fight Oh, She promises nothing to me And now love is my only reprieve I won’t, no, I won’t be losing Letting go of the things we know I’m chasing them down at speed of sound Flesh and bone, or a slow disown Living on and on and on in olden stone (violin solo) She stays alive In the back of her mind With a soul like leather Defensive and worn Oh, some families weather the storms Some alone where some don’t belong Be strong

about

Wandering Ghost EP is a selection of songs influenced by songwriting and rock music of the early 2000s till today. The juxtaposed sounds of analog and digital convey harmony between our present reality and the imagined, its lines blurred, and how we find our sense of belonging here in America. It’s a musical journey fueled by generous love and inspirations from east to west, continental to coastal, darkness to light, feminine to masculine; vibrating a message from another human who’s searching for acceptance in a new world.
