about
The last song of the EP, it comes back around to the madness and sadness that was derived from the sudden end of a relationship, caused by undercurrents of discontent, jealousy and anger. These feelings were left unaddressed from the inability to communicate, and as a result, I faded into a dark period of time. This recording tells my side of the story - the internalization of the events that took place, and the downward spiral of my mental health.
This recording has been inspired by some 80s synths & 90s grunge-rock and with its guitaristic progressions and choice of instrumentation. Its harmony is dense, tense, and constantly moving.
lyrics
THE RIVER'S BLUE
The news is in, tonight
Of a distant star, a satellite
I've got one more worry on my mind
But tomorrow, leaves another one behind
Close your eyes and gather thought
For all that things were once before
Is the present a real tragedy?
Now what about the things to come?
Fall in, fall into
The river’s blue
Break in, break in two
Over you
I wallow in my pride
Of exchanging life into light
So I cut my tongue to stay behind
The walls, the lies, the territory lines
Fall in, fall into
The river’s blue
Break in, break in two
Over you
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Fall into
Why don’t you fall down the river
Break in two
Over you
